MONTELLO AND ASOLO HILLS
photo by Casamoscati, Guido Andolfato, Orsorama
The discovery of the territories situated along the river Piave is a delightful experience, thanks to hills and small valleys that make the landscape more and unpublished.
An area in which today still echo the ancient glories of Venice: during the Serenissima Republic they came here to find food and wine for their tables. It was territory of thriving trade in villas that now are World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Here Andrea Palladio developed the rural architecture that the whole world envies us. Villa Barbaro in Maser and Villa Emo in Fanzolo di Vedelago are examples of the modern conception of the Italian farm in 16th ce.
The paths that cross the hills of Asolo to the foot of Montello are an ideal place for all lovers of bicycles. “Slow cyclists” that discover the area will be kidnapped by striking views and gorgeous scenery. Agonist cyclists can have a good training along the Montello Cycling Ring.
