GREAT WAR
photo by Giorgio Varisco, Gianluca Stefani, Guido Andolfato
The Marca of Treviso was a land of battles during the First World War, which preserves the signs. Between 15 and June 21, 1918 the army of Charles of Habsburg worked the last great offensive. On the gravels of the Piave River, on the Montello and sinkholes on the Grappa massif moved an immense humanity to fight the enemy of Austria. Innumerable signs remained, including small bunkers in the hedges and cannons facing the river, between the imposing shrines and british cemeteries.
