The 8th edition of the Fascetta d’Oro Wine Competition closes with the success of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Spumante Brut 2021 from the Rive del Bacio winery in Valdobbiadene (TV), which wins the special prize Gran Fascetta d’ Oro 2022.
That was not an easy choice, given the high quality of the over 200 products participating in the competition, but in the end the jury commissioners elected the best sparkling wine of the year from the Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene.
The award ceremony, which took place on the occasion of the Gran Galà of Primavera del Prosecco Superiore, was held for the first time in Pieve di Soligo at the Battistella Moccia Auditorium. The location offered the perfect setting for the evening which turned out to be full of emotions and novelties, and marked the point for restarting again after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The competition was made even more sparkling due to the participation of 81 companies with 221 samples presented, divided into 19 wine types. This numbers already give an idea of how difficult the task of the jury was. At the end of the tastings carried out, as usual, with the technical support of Assoenologi – a body officially authorized by MIPAAF – the first three wines classified in each of the 19 categories were awarded Fascetta d’Oro, Fascetta d ‘Argento and Fascetta di Bronzo.
The Gran Fascetta d’Oro award was assigned to the sparkling wine Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Docg, which obtained the best score overall.
