PROSECCO SUPERIORE DOCG CONEGLIANO VALDOBBIADENE
Elegant, vital, fine: it is the Conegliano Valdobbiadene, a handmade wine that through an extraordinary history has built over time the success of Prosecco and still represents the best quality. The Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore is the perfect union between the precious composition of the soil, the sweetness of the climate and the wisdom of the men who have shaped these hills in centuries of passion for the vineyard. The result is a fresh, savory wine, rich in aromas of fruit and white flowers, which enchants at the first sip with the unique elegance of its fine bubbles. The Conegliano Valdobbiadene is recognized for its vital elegance, the light straw colour and the delicate fruity and floral scent. It is produced in Spumante, Sparkling and Still wine. The most important version is the sparkling wine, with an informal and refined character, a pleasant and versatile wine suitable for all occasions and all types of cuisine. DOCG since 2009, the Conegliano Valdobbiadene comes in three versions, Brut, Extra Dry and Dry, depending on the residual sugar and can be tasted throughout the meal, from appetizer to dessert.
CARTIZZE DOCG VALDOBBIADENE SUPERIORE
“Cartizze”,Cru of the appellation, is represented by a small area of 107 hectares of vineyard enclosed between the steepest hills of San Pietro di Barbozza, Santo Stefano and Saccol, in the municipality of Valdobbiadene. It comes from the perfect combination of a sweet microclimate and a very varied soil, among the oldest of the appellation, consisting of clay, moraines and sandstone, which give rise to a wine of superior quality. Cartizze is an exquisite sparkling wine, with an intense colour, which expresses a complexity of inviting and ample perfumes, from apple to pear, from apricot to citrus fruits with a pleasing hint of glazed almonds to the aftertaste. With a round taste, a soft flavour, Cartizze is generally presented in the dry type, its most classic interpretation, and goes well with traditional desserts, pastry and fruit tarts.
THE RIVE
The Rive type is produced exclusively in the sparkling version, with grapes from a single municipality. The label always indicates the place of origin of the grapes together with the indication of the vintage.
The term “Rive” indicates, in the geographical area, the grapes are grown on steep slopes, only manually worked by men and have developed over the years the most valuable vitiultural features.
In the area of Conegliano Valdobbiadene there are 43 Rive. The different characteristics of the soil and climate of this area determine the quality of the local wines hence the range of wines produced in this area can meet the most expert mouthfeel.
Rive are produced on purpose by wineries aiming to enhance the sub-areas, their unique territory and peculiar traits. For instance Rive of Santo Stefano, feature elegance, acidity and perfumes; those of Farra di Soligo feature a sharp nearly mineral like flavour; Ogliano (Conegliano), the core appellation area, produces soft and round wines with high alcohol content; eventually, the Rive of Susegana wines are full of body.
Rive wines are the very essence of our hills featuring the manifold expressions of a remarkable varied mosaic-like territory.
VERDISO IGT
Verdiso is a secular Treviso Altamarca autochthonous grapevine, of limited production, loved by fans for its particular taste. It is a dry, lively wine with a hint of unripe apple and with a slightly bitter aftertaste.
WHITE AND RED COLLI DI CONEGLIANO DOCG
The white and red wines are the result of the skilful blend of the most prestigious grapes of Colli di Conegliano. The velvety and aromatic white wine, matches with appetizers, main courses, white meat and fish. The red wine, full of body and character, is suitable for aging.
REFRONTOLO PASSITO DOCG COLLI DI CONEGLIANO
A mention of this wine can be found in Mozart’s “Don Giovanni”, it is produced with Marzemino grapes of Refrontolo, selected during the harvest, which are set on trellis and pressed thus obtaining a lovely red ruby passito, rich in perfumes with a note of blackberry and marasca. Excellent with pastries and desserts.
TORCHIATO DI FREGONA DOCG COLLI DI CONEGLIANO
It is a meditation wine produced from aromatic grapes, mainly of Prosecco, Verdiso and Boschera, left to dry until spring and pressed in manual presses. It ages in oak casks until the beginning of the new year. The Torchiato is sweet, well balanced in its alcohol content, with golden reflections and intense scent. The taste is full and rich.
