Corbanese
Corbanese is a small hamlet of Tarzo with an ancient history. There are two Roman-Medieval archaeological sites in the village: the first castle, built on the basis of a previous Roman tower by the noble family of the Da Corbanese, and the Castelnuovo, built, incorporating the first, by the vassals of the Municipality of Conegliano Marco and Buto Da Corbanese.
There are several villas built between the 16th and 19th centuries in this area: Villa Antiga, Villa Lazzarin, Morandin, known as “il Canevon”, due to being used as a cellar for some time, Villa Pizzol, Pesca, Pol and Casa Pescador-Da Rios.
There are other points of interest of huge importance in this area: the Sanctuary of the Madonna of Loreto, which houses the Madonna and Child by Frigimelica il Vecchio, the oratory of San Giuseppe, which houses a Holy Family by Arnosti and the eighteenth-century parish church, dedicated to the Saints Gervasio and Protaso, where the main altarpiece is by Giovanni Battista Dal Colle.
Do not miss the Livelet Educational Archaeological Park on the western shore of Lago lake. It is a park for families created to enhance the discovery of the nearby site of Colmaggiore, an area affected by important archaeological findings dating back to prehistoric times.
