ENJOY PIAVE RIVER

Turbulent waters, boats full of soldiers, bridges destroyed by artillery and textures of fences: these are the first images that jump to mind thinking about Piave River. The signs are still visible along the trail in the municipality of the “Isle of the Dead” in Moriago della Battaglia.
Today, the sacred river is a natural resource that finds its identity, for example, in a nature trail in the “City of the Herons” in Pederobba, nesting place of the grey heron and white egret.
The natural area of Settolo Basso extends in Bigolino. It’s a journey of about 5 Km that offers the opportunity to spend a pleasant day among fresh water courses, springs, flora and fauna of the wetlands river.
The Fontane Bianche of Sernaglia are a fascinating area of the floodplain of the Piave River, located between the towns Fontigo and Falzè di Piave. The area is almost entirely covered by dense vegetation and covered by a dense network of rivers, fed by numerous springs.
The ancient river port of Falzè di Piave, sponsored by Gruppo Casa Piave, is another place of special interest. Rediscovered in recent times, it was important at the time of the Venetian Republic, when goods were transported on rafts.
