CANOVA MUSEUM
Possagno is the birthplace of the greatest neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova (Possagno 1st November 1757 – Venice 13th October 1822). He left his great art heritage in his own Birth-house and in the nearby solemn Gipsoteca built in 1836. It houses almost all his plaster cast models, terracotta scale models, drawings and paintings.
For this reason we can call it “the big Canovian complex”, which includes a museum, a library and an archive.
A lot of activities are planned to keep this place updated, lively and ready to educate people in art and culture.
